Startup Parameters

The WinterNode Game Control Panel provides a few easily configurable options under the Configuration → Startup Parameters tab on your server page. These options make use of common command line arguments and are needed for the server to function as expected, but may be changed as needed using the fields provided in the modals.

Automatic Updates

Whether or not the server should check for and update to the latest version on restart. Enter 1 to enable and 0 to disabled. Defaults to 1.

[Repair] Validate Server Files

Whether or not the server should validate the server's files as part of the the auto-update process. Will increase startup times. Can be left empty to disable, or set to true or 1 to enable.

Autosave Interval

How often, in seconds, the server will autosave the world.

Number of Rotating Autosaves

The number of auto-saves to keep before the oldest is deleted.

Upload Crash Reports

Should the server upload crash reports and diagnostic information to the developers. Can be true or false. Defaults to true.

[Experimental] Max Players

The maximum amount of players allowed to log into the server at once. It's recommended to keep this at 4, but can be increased using this parameter and then using the "Reinstall Server" button in the "Configuration" -> "Advanced" tab.

[Advanced] Client Initial Connection Timeout

How long in seconds the server should wait for a client to finish connecting to the server. If you have an unstable network, a laggy client, or are otherwise timing out when joining your server, increasing this might help. Defaults to 30.

[Advanced] Client Established Connection Timeout

How long in seconds the server should wait before terminating a potentially unresponsive connection. Defaults to 20.

[Advanced] Network Quality

Selects between three preset quality options for how the server will handle network compression and maximum bandwidth.

0 = Low, 1 = Medium, 2 = High, 3 = Ultra

[Advanced] Branch Name

The release branch the auto updater and installer should use. Can be public, experimental, or left empty to use public. Both the "Automatic Updates" and "Validate Server Files" parameters need to be enable if you switch branches without using the "Reinstall Server" button in the "Configuration" -> "Advanced" tab.

Disable Seasonal Events

Whether or not the server should disable seasonal events. Van be either true or false. Defaults to false, meaning that seasonal events will happen.
